ENS Announces New Agreement with FisaCure
Colorado Springs, CO - July 18, 2003 -- Electronic Network
Systems, Inc. (ENS, a subsidiary of NWH, Inc. (NASDAQ:NWIR)), a
national healthcare e-commerce company, today announced they have
executed an agreement with FisaCure, Inc., a leading provider of
electronic remittance transactions, to provide HIPAA compliant e-commerce
services to ENS and FisaCure physician practices. The two companies
look to expand and enhance the e-commerce services currently being
delivered to more than 40,000 providers.
While most of the healthcare industry is just becoming familiar
with electronic remittance processing, FisaCure has many years of
experience enhancing the delivery of electronic remittance transactions
for multiple providers and provider information systems. The experience
and dedication of FisaCure associates has resulted in significantly
reduced provider exception processing. FisaCure continues to develop
new rules and procedures to reduce provider exceptions and therefore
maximize the benefit of electronic remittance processing for customers.
ENS provides physician practices with e-commerce applications that
enable them to trade HIPAA compliant healthcare transactions. ENS
delivers both Web-based applications as well as a Software Developers
Kit (SDK) for practice management software vendors; both enable
providers to conduct HIPAA-defined transactions with payers through
a single user interface. When physicians utilize ENS to interact
electronically with payers, the practice becomes more efficient
with the elimination of paper-intensive and labor-intensive processes.
FisaCure will assist ENS in delivering remittance data from payers
to ENS clients in their single standardized format. This will allow
ENS clients to import payment data directly into their existing
practice management software rather than posting payments manually.
ENS clients will also have the ability to retrieve an image of the
payer Explanation of Payments (EOPs) from payers for secondary claim
submissions as well as take advantage of FisaCure's advanced financial
analysis tools via the ENS Web portal.
"The combination of ENS' payer connectivity and FisaCure's expertise
with delivering electronic provider payment solutions and analysis
now affords small to mid-sized physician practices to realize an
administrative savings and financial acumen that was previously
only available to the largest national provider groups who perform
or outsource similar services," said Hugh Sullivan, Senior Vice
President of Business Development at ENS. FisaCure's President,
Steve Arning, stated, "We are very pleased to have developed this
relationship with ENS. As the provider community moves toward upcoming
key dates in HIPAA implementation, we believe it offers the market
the capability to realize substantial savings through accelerating
the adoption of the HIPAA transaction sets. Our business philosophy
has always been to anticipate our clients' needs to help guide them
through challenges ahead. We believe this relationship furthers
our position in this regard."
ENS provides Internet and e-commerce connectivity between thousands
of healthcare providers such as physicians, hospitals, clinics,
practice management software vendors and third party commercial
payers. ENS is currently processing transactions annually from more
than 200,000 providers.
ENS provides services to healthcare providers and payers that eliminate
paper and labor-intensive process in the administration of healthcare
delivery. ENS provides and supports Health-e Network®, a full-cycle
suite of products and services designed to increase productivity,
automate, and streamline workflow between providers and healthcare
payer organizations.
