ANNOUNCEMENT – HIPAA Business Associate Agreement

Electronic Network Systems, Inc. (ENS), in an effort to be pro-active with HIPAA regulations, has developed an electronic HIPAA Business Associate Agreement. A Business Associate Agreement is required by the HIPAA regulations to ensure Protected Health Information (PHI) remains confidential and secure. ENS has enlisted the services of several HIPAA experts to develop this Business Associate Agreement.

The Business Associate agreement includes all the required HIPAA provisions:

  • Specify permitted uses and disclosures.
  • Business Associate’s Obligations.
  • Termination

A business associate agreement MUST be signed by both parties (ENS and your Vendor / Provider office) by the HIPAA Privacy deadline of April 2003. Electronically signing this business associates agreement helps your office comply within the Confidentiality and Privacy HIPAA regulations.

To complete your HIPAA Business Associate Agreement electronically go to the ENS home page at www.ENShealth.com - News and Events section, and follow these five simple steps:

  1. Read the brief introduction letter.
  2. Enter your ENS User ID and Primary Signing Authority Name into the provided boxes and click “Go.”
  3. Read the HIPAA Business Agreement.
  4. Verify your Organization Name and Signing Authority Name.
  5. Click “I Agree”, the document will displayed on your desk top for printing. SAVE YOUR COPY in a secure location. You will NOT need to send a copy to ENS.
